I have been sentenced to one month's imprisonment, suspended for one year. This means that if I am accused of the same charge for which I was convicted by the Ofer military court - assaulting a soldier and organising an illegal protest - I will go straight to prison. I was arrested in early 2021 for taking part in and organising a protest against the killing of Harun Abu Aram in Masafer Yatta. The Israeli soldiers who killed him remain free, with total impunity and no accountability, and I have been put on trial. May Harun’s soul rest in peace and we will continue to fight for our rights and liberation. This is Apartheid, this is the occupation.
