I am here in northern Gaza, besieged and obliterated before the eyes and ears of the entire world, alone, hiding my sorrow, and gathering the pieces of myself every day, thousands of times, to be able to rise from the depths of depression, fear, anguish, and helplessness, so I can continue and help as many people as possible who have been physically and psychologically destroyed. Here, we have no one but ourselves, God, and our painful memories that we long for every second. And our Lord is Self-Sufficient, independent of all others, and sufficient for us is God, and He is the best disposer of affairs. 12:09 PM @m.z.gaza 🚨 #BackflipForLife Challenge Begins Now! 🚨
Hi, I’m Mahmoud, a parkour athlete from Gaza. For years, parkour has been my way to find freedom in a place where it feels like none exists. Every jump, every flip, every movement has given me hope—but today, I need your help to take the biggest leap of my life.
The situation here in Gaza is beyond words. I’m raising funds to escape the unimaginable conditions of war and genocide, to survive, and to create a future where I can continue inspiring others through movement. My goal is £17,000, and together, we can make it happen.
But I’m not the only one. There are other athletes like me still alive in Gaza—artists of movement who also dream of freedom, but who have lost almost everything. If we can exceed this target, every extra euro raised will go directly toward helping them survive too.
My friend @mrnaby is kicking off the #BackflipForLife challenge with the first flip and donation, and now we’re asking you—our global parkour family and movement artists worldwide—to join us.
💡 Here’s how you can help:
1️⃣ Post your backflip (or any parkour move) as a symbol of freedom and solidarity.
2️⃣ Share why parkour matters to you, and how it changed your life.
3️⃣ Tag 3 friends to join the challenge.
4️⃣ Donate if you can (link in bio)—even just 1 euro. If hundreds of thousands of us come together, we can exceed this target and save countless lives.
5️⃣ Share this post to keep the chain alive.
To everyone who’s ever felt the transformative power of movement: this is your chance to help save lives through the art that connects us all. A single backflip, a single euro, can bring hope, survival, and a future to those who need it most.
This isn’t just another campaign. I’m not just asking for help. I’m asking you to stand with me and other athletes in Gaza, to show the world the power of parkour and community. Together, let’s flip the world for the better.
