10:05 PM @eye.on.palestine Manchester youth successfully disrupted genocide-enablers Barclays’ attempts to launder its reputation through a “Black Women in Tech” diversity and networking event.
Rather than listen to the truth, or stand up to their company’s material support for genocide, Barclays staff were more comfortable calling security on us, desperate to shut down the conversation.
We are now close to a year into the zionist genocide of Palestinian people; a genocide of mass starvation, of disease, of rape, of displacement and torture and of murder. Barclays Bank holds over £2 billion shares in 9 weapons companies facilitating this horror - committed by the occupation with the wholesale endorsement of western powers — including Elbit Systems, the zionist regime’s largest private arms manufacturer.
Barclays is guilty of genocide, Barclays is guilty of ethnic cleansing. Until Barclays cuts its ties with these arms companies, with the zionist entity, and with all forces allowing the entity’s most horrific of crimes, we will never relent in our actions taken to disrupt their business of bloodshed.
As young Black women and their comrades we know the histories of Black women’s struggle are not struggles simply to seek recognition from colonisers and from the very companies and capitalists which enable the slaughter of Palestinian women, and men, and children. We understand any success or freedom that forgets the unfreedom of our sisters and brothers elsewhere to be a false freedom.
We continue to fight every day, to target every complicit arms company, insurer, bank, and politician. Barclays bank was forced to end its investments in South African apartheid by mass mobilisation - we will continue this legacy by forcing a total embargo of the zionist regime. Until Palestine is free, none of us are free. By @y.f.f.p
