Ahmad Al-Ghalbaan, 16, from Beit Lahia, survived an Israeli airstrike while fleeing with his family. His twin brother Mohammed, his uncle, and his cousin were killed in the attack. Ahmad suffered severe injuries that resulted in the amputation of both legs and the loss of several fingers on his left hand. Ahmad and Mohammed once dreamed of a future in gymnastics and circus arts — dreams that were shattered by the bombing. Today, Ahmad faces life burdened by grief and loss. He lost more than his limbs — he lost his dream and his twin. Yet, he still holds onto hope. Ahmad dreams of receiving prosthetic legs, hoping to regain a part of the life he knew before the war — and a piece of the dream that still lives within him. الطفل أحمد الغلبان (16 عاماً) من بيت لاهيا نجا من قصف إسرائيلي أثناء نزوحه مع عائلته، بينما استشهد شقيقه التوأم محمد، وخاله، وابنة خاله. أُصيب أحمد بجراح بالغة أدت إلى بتر قدميه وفقدان جزء من أصابع يده اليسرى. كان أحمد ومحمد يحلمان بمستقبل في رياضة الجمباز والسيرك، لكن القصف سرق منهما كل شيء. اليوم، يواجه أحمد الحياة مثقلاً بالحزن والفقد، وقد خسر أكثر من أطرافه — خسر حلمه وتوأمه. ورغم ذلك، لا يزال أحمد يحلم بتركيب أطراف صناعية لقدميه، عله يستعيد بعضاً من حياته قبل الحرب، وبعضاً من أحلامه التي لم تكتمل.
