10:04 PM @sara__alsaqqa On the 30th of November at 15:52, driving back from north Gaza after passing the Israeli checkpoint, I saw bags abandoned on the streets; traces of everything people were forced to leave behind. We stopped for a woman’s desperate plea, and found Rawan, a 10-year-old girl, shot in the center of the chest and struggling to breathe. I did everything to save her, and she made it! But two days later, another child was shot at the same spot, and no one was there to help. Rawan’s survival couldn’t erase the crushing weight of all those we couldn’t reach. Of all of those whose stories we cannot tell. The crippling thought of not being able to save all of these children haunts me. But every life matters, and today, I celebrated rawan’s.
