8:13 PM @sami_tabak_2 Imagine waking up to the sound of rockets and destruction, finding yourself amidst the debris of your loved ones, inhaling death against your will, and racing against time to escape annihilation.
This is Sami Abu Tabqa. I work as a photographer and have captured many beautiful moments and remarkable events in the city of beauty, Gaza. I had ambitions and dreams that I constantly strived to achieve, and I had a life that I always sought to elevate, step by step, reaching for the top. I had built a home for stability and marriage. My wedding ceremony was scheduled for November, marking the beginning of forming a new family built on happiness and life.
Suddenly, without warning, without mercy, and with all the methods of oppression and criminality, in the blink of an eye, everything I built of home and dreams was destroyed. In one moment, everything was obliterated.
I lived through indescribable days, even in movies, you cannot imagine them. Our homes were destroyed, we lost family members, and we were forced to flee from house to house, each time narrowly escaping death. Death became our constant companion.
Imagine yourself living in a tent after residing in your spacious, warm home filled with memories, but all of this has been destroyed by the occupation.
We ran out of options, with only one choice left: to leave Gaza to seek safety for myself, my remaining family, and to start anew with my wife.
