Hadeel says Israeli forces took her away from her two young sons – a four-year-old and a breastfeeding nine-month-old. She says she was put on the back of a military truck with only male detainees. She was then taken to several detention camps inside and outside Gaza and interrogated about the 7 October attack on southern Israel and beaten by Israeli soldiers. The soldiers told her she would be taken for half an hour, but Hadeel says she was detained for 54 days and away from her children for 80 days.

12:02 PM @anasjamal44 ‏بعد أكثر من أسبوع من محاصرتنا في منزلنا الواقع في محيط مستشفى الشفاء غرب مدينة غزة، كانت قوات الاحتلال تدخل كل حيّ وتقتل وتدمّر، ونسمع أصوات اطلاق النار من كل مكان. فضّلت البقاء في شقتي السكنية، كما وبقي عدد من الجيران، كان أسبوع صعب جدا من الحصار وعدم تواجد الطعام ولا الماء. ظهر يوم الأحد الموافق 24 مارس 2024، نادت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي عبر مكبرات الصوت على سكان المنطقة المحيطة التي نتواجد بها، بأن هذه المنطقة عسكرية وعلى جميع السكان الخروج فورا عبر طريق حدده الجيش وهو ينادي على المواطنين. لم يكن لدينا خيارا آخر سوى الخروج برفقة عدد من الجيران، وسلكنا الطريق الذي حدده الجيش. شاهدنا عدد من الضحايا المُلقين على جنبات الطريق، دون تمكن أحد من انتشال جثثهم، نظرنا إليهم ووجدت عددا منهم من جيراننا من عائلة أبو سيدو. لم نتقدّم سوى عشرات الأمتار، لنجد أمامنا آلية عسكرية، واستمرينا بالمشي وفجأة حدثت الكارثة. اطلاق نار متواصل تجاهنا، ليسقط طفلي علي، وابن خاله الطفل سعيد محمد شيخة. سقط الطفلان أمام أعيننا وشاهدنا الدماء تملأ أجسادهم، حاولت رفع طفلي عن الأرض، وكذلك أنسبائنا من عائلة شيخة حاول رفع طفله عن الأرض، فبدأت الآليات العسكرية الإسرائيلية بإطلاق النار علينا، اضطررنا للسير في الطريق ولم نتمكن من أخذهم معنا. حاولت زوجتي الذهاب نحو طفلنا، ولكني أمسكت بها، خوفا من اعدامها جنب طفلها. كنت أنظر لطفلي وهو يسقط، نظرت لعيونه وهي تقول لي، لماذا تتركني وتذهب يا بابا. هذا المشهد سيبقى عالقا في أذهاننا، فحتى الآن لا نعلم شيئا عن طفلي، فجثته لا تزال مكانها دون تمكن الطواقم الطبية من الوصول إليها. كان طفلي صائما منذ 4 أيام، وتحدث لنا أنه يريد الطعام وكنا نقول له إننا سنخرج لنجلب الطعام. استشهد طفلي علي دون تناول الطعام، استشهد وهو جائع، صائم منذ أيام دون إفطار. منطقة محيط مستشفى الشفاء، أصبحت منطقة اعدامات ميدانية، فهذا ما تقوله جثامين الضحايا المتواجدة في الطرقات.
