Unlearn your thinking about the notion that Palestinians are “voiceless”. We have a voice that hasn’t been heard. I have been talking about Palestine to the press since I was 12 when our school got bombed and so has any Palestinian child. 3. Palestinians need large investments in their own think tanks where knowledge is produced and disseminated, otherwise the same white experts will hijack the movement with their unjust prescriptions. 4. Do not idolize anyone. The age of icons needs to go because it is rooted in the western culture of individualism, where systemic oppression gets attributed to one “bad” president rather than the system. Palestine’s movement is about humanity as a whole and shouldn’t be about one or two individuals that we glorify without taking into account the collective.

Most of the surviving children that have arrived at the hospital: their families have been martyred! These little ones are now left alone! The child waits for his parents to come to him, but he doesn't know that his entire family has been martyred!! These heartbreaking scenes happening in Gaza every moment; even mountains cannot bear their cruelty! المشهد أمامي لا يوصف أبدًا! لا توجد كلماتٌ في العالم تكفي لهولِ ما يحدث! معظم الأطفالِ الذين يصلون المستشفى هم ناجون وعوائلهم استشهدت! هؤلاء الصّغار الآن دون أهل! الطّفل ينتظر والديه أن يأتيا إليه لكنّه لا يعلم أنّ كلّ عائلته قد استشهدت!! هذه المشاهدُ المؤلمة التي تحدث في غزّة كلّ لحظة؛ لا تستطيع الجبال تحمّل قسوتها!

But let this movement and moment inspire you to seek different interpretations and develop alternative world views than what has been fed to us by the West. Alaa (7), has been injured twice, once in northern of Gaza by Israeli shelling that targeted her home and once again in Al-Nuseirat camp. Two members of her family were killed in the first attack in Al-Nuseirat camp. Her hand has been amputated, and she suffers from other injuries .
